Deploying the free App Store apps via VPP seems to be working pretty well on my test machine for everything but iMovie. The smaller iWork apps deployed in a reasonable 10-15 minutes, and even GarageBand was ready in 30 minutes, but a couple hours in there's still no sign of iMovie.
