Feeling Zoomed out. Time to get outside for a few minutes of fresh air.

Meeting prep in 2020 is all about converting animated gif pixel art into mp4 clips I can use with Zoom.

Yeah, that makes sense. I can understand wanting to conform to group norms.

Yeah, generally speaking I think the video portion for most participants is unnecessary and distracting unless you're sharing a screen or the leader of the meeting.

Photo Booth still has fun background support in Mojave, but it's completely absent from Catalina's version of the app. What the heck Apple? This is a complete scandal in the COVID-19/Zoom era when I want to construct fun still images of myself with wacky backgrounds.

Now that Apple has announced the 2020 iPhone SE (basically 11 internals with an 8 form factor and screen) it's time to see what Mary wants to replace her 6s with. I have a feeling that she might be really happy with the $450 128GB model.

Zoom laid it out as a 4x5 grid on my main screen (with a button to the right to allow navigation to the next set of 20) and put the person speaking on my secondary screen. It worked fine since most of us were just listening.

Both. Half the people had on full video and half had just voice or a still photo. It was mostly just our CIO updating us on the status of things with the university and taking a few questions. He actually had to switch to voice partway through because of his connection.

Being able to do a quick 60 person Zoom meeting with the CIO and everybody in ITS still feels a little like living in the future to me.

Mary reported that our stimulus money was deposited in our bank account. All the people who never bothered to set up direct deposit with the IRS (in fairness if you never get a refund or it is small why would you?) have to wait longer for their Trump autographed check.🙄
