Lunch is nigh. Time for a couple hotdogs!🌭🌭

🧙‍♂ Just went 1-3 in my first attempt at a Throne of Eldraine draft in Magic Arena and feel really good about it. All three of my losses were really close games where I had my opponents down to low single digits and just couldn't draw a card to finish the deal.

Time to go work in the yard and listen to some podcasts.

🏃‍♂ As I suspected would be the case, Bloomsday is going fully virtual this year. I have a couple 12K routes from my house that I could run, but I haven't decided if I'm going to use those or come up with something else. I do know I'm not going to run the regular course.

Heh, I've faced at least a couple international opponents based on asian character set usernames, but I'm a long ways away from being even local tournament ready.

I've just been building up my card collection over the last month (mostly via free to play methods, but I did spring for the mastery pass) and only in the last week invested some of the wildcards I've earned into a more powerful deck.

It's the starting tier so mostly newbies play there and they're less likely to have acquired all the mythics, rares, and uncommons you need for a competitive deck. The casual Play queue factors in deck composition so my good deck gets matched against higher powered ones.

🧙‍♂ Last night went to 15 daily wins in Magic Arena for the second day in row. Decided to play some Standard Ranked Constructed and found the Bronze Tier 4 less competitive than the general Play queue from an opponent deck composition standpoint.

100°F high in the forecast today and it's already almost 80°F this morning. Not planning to run tonight, but I am planning to do some yard work in the late evening- we've got another 10 yards of bark for the backyard on the way now.

Killed some yellow jackets in the garden this morning. My younger son got stung on the chin yesterday while playing in the backyard, but luckily isn't allergic. They're always a nuisance this time of year.
