🎮Finally found a constructed deck for Magic Arena that appealed to me enough to spend a bunch of my wildcards. Tweaked it a little bit because I didn't want to use up all my rares and then took it for a test run. Picked up a quick win so that was cool.
The WIAA has released their tentative plan for high school sports in Washington State and it looks like basketball's shortened season will start in January and run through February. Football will happen in March and April. Given current trends I remain skeptical.
🎮Had a pretty solid losing streak going for most of the day on Magic Arena, but then I turned things around, completed the card rewards for my so so deck, and decided to resign and try one more deck. Finally snagged my first planeswalker pack (Basri) and a complimentary pack.
The latch bolt on our front door's doorknob malfunctioned while I was out on my run. It still locks and unlocks, but refuses to fully retract without moving the handle now. Annoying, but Amazon has the $20 part we need so at least we don't have to replace the whole knob.
Another hot day summer day. Almost 70°F at 8:45am with a forecasted high around 92°F. Looks like I'll be waiting until dusk to get in my run for the day.
🎮My second Jumpstart deck on Magic Arena was Under the Sea Spirits and I did not enjoy it at all so I retired it as soon as I got two wins (which took several games). At least I got the rares I was seeking. Hoping for a better combo when I try again.
@matigo Almost 40 years ahead of its time! Meanwhile the older kids are upstairs watching Napoleon Dynamite with Mary and I've stepped into my office (next door to the downstairs TV) to look for something a little more my speed.
🍿Watching The Fox and the Hound with my three youngest kids and there is a moment when a character says “OK Boomer” to another one and I just laughed.
Today's yard project involved building a wooden frame for a sandbox and then moving a bunch of the sandy dirt I had piled up while making way for our new basketball court. Tired and ready for a shower.
@matigo Yeah, there's so much weird and amusing jargon. I'm pretty quick at picking it up and adopting that kind of thing, but it cracks me up when I step back and think about it.😅
