Twitter speculation (based on tracking data and rail transportation experience) points to hitting a 30-40 mph curve at close to top speed (~80 mph). That would be a safety regulation and management issue- not infrastructure.

Horrible passenger train accident in DuPont, WA this morning. Looking at the layout of the track and how the engine appears to still be on the rails with all the cars piled up behind it I wonder if rapidly bringing it to a full stop compounded the crash.
🏀 Gutty win by Gonzaga to claw back from a horrible first 30 minutes and win in OT. Huge plays by Perkins, Norvell, and Melson down the stretch.
🎮 Mods are the bane of my Minecraft parenting existence, but at least my older kids are to the point where I can just let them try to install them first.
📺 That said, I'm in a weird space- things ended up so satisfyingly that I could walk away. It seems likely narratively that a lot of stuff will have to go south right out of the gate in Season 4 to make his new goal a challenge.
📺 Wow! Hats off to San Esmail for a great season 3 of Mr. Robot. It didn't happen until the final scene, but he even circled back to a dangling season one thread I suspected might reappear.
