Lunch With Father Spitzer

Still no bike. Sigh

I got to sit by Father Spitzer, the Gonzaga University President, at lunch today. He's a pretty friendly, high energy kind of guy. He also has a definite geeky quality about him, which is both endearing and disconcerting when you consider who he is.

Breanna and Kellie came to visit Dale at lunchtime, so I got my weekly dose of Veggie Tales. Breanna is definitely a little jumping bean these days.

Reflections on the State Championship Game

I'm off to a an early start today for some reason.

I was going to go to bed early last night, but then I started reading GEB last night and then I followed that by writing down assorted random thoughts about my day (which took quite a while given all the things I had on my mind).

I watched the first half of the State championship game we lost to Walla Walla. It wasn't particularly enlightening, but it did refresh my memory about a few impressions I had at the time.

I don't think we ran any offense other than straight motion and we weren't effective doing that at all against their defense. As things went from bad to worse in the first half our players started having more and more mental lapses and doing a lot of uncharacteristic things.

Chernobyl Virus

Today was supposed to be the big Chernobyl virus day, but nothing really materialized at work which was definitely good.

I called Wheelsport to see if my bike was here yet, but alas it sounds like tomorrow or Wednesday will be the magical day.

Zero Effect

I just finished watching The Zero Effect this morning. It starred Ben Stiller and Bill Pullman and it's one of the best movies I've watched recently. I have no idea what made me pick it out at Hastings either. I think I was looking for less than mainstream movies and this fit the bill.

I think I will watch another movie now even though it's one am.

CD Burning

I totally planned on going to the track meet today, but I slept in a little bit and then got sidetracked putting together a music cd.

This afternoon I went out and visited my family and helped my sister and Nichole put together a cd for their friend's birthday. It turned out pretty well I think.

Nice Weather on a Friday

What a nice day weather wise. I wish I had my bike already. I'd be doing some serious riding around town. There are lots of places that I'd like to explore that I've never been to in all my years in Spokane.

Everybody cleared out of work early it seemed like. I left a little early myself.

College campuses always seem to come alive during the spring and GU is no exception. Students are out throwing frisbees and having fun soaking up the rays. It's nice to be a part of that every day.

Old Alarm Clock

Something is wrong with my alarm clock. It's off by up to one half hour in the morning even when I've reset it during the night. Considering I've had it for almost 15 years it's probably about time to retire it anyway.

Trek 7500SHX

After a day of mulling over my bike purchasing options I went for the gusto and ordered this beauty.

trek7500shx

It should arrive about a week from today.

Kristen and I successfully burned our first music cd tonight. It was really quick once we selected all the tunes we wanted. That took a long time though.

Bike Shopping

My visit to Wheelsport yesterday was pretty fruitful. I tried out two of the main models I was thinking about, the Trek 7500 and the Trek 7500 SHX. Front shocks make a huge difference in the feel of the bike!

I went out to my family's to try making a cd with Kristen, but I forgot one important thing- the blank cdr’s! Doh!

I also watched Futurama of course. It was definitely the best one to date.

Destination Wheelsport

I'm looking forward to having my own bike and riding it to work on a daily basis. Hopefully I'll be able to negotiate the downtown traffic without too much trouble.

I'm going to go to Wheelsport after work to check out the bike models I'm interested in.

I successfully burned my first cdr last night and then I optimized my hard drive.

Now I need to try my hand at music cds.
