In depth discussion of the pros and cons of MacPorts vs. Homebrew when it comes to managing software packages in macOS that I found in May. I've been using Homebrew on all my Macs for several years, but I have never been entirely happy with it and I feel like this blog post makes a pretty good case for switching back to MacPorts based on security and community. Now that I have a fresh MacBook Pro to setup it's the perfect time to give MacPorts a go.
