Back to work for half a day then a three hour road trip to Walla Walla, WA this afternoon for a high school basketball playoff game.
Feels later than it actually is, but the upside is I still have time to do something productive with my time before I call it a night.
@sumudu The whole mechanism. I'm pretty sure the old one was installed when the house was built back in the 90's so it's not surprising that it finally failed. Lots of improved tech in the intervening years. The new one has a DC motor, belt drive, LED light, and a phone app.

Finally trying out the NextCloud sync client for macOS. Seems fast so far, but all those QT frameworks sure take up a bunch of space!
@matigo Reading between the lines I think Relay.fm's host compensation approach was likely a direct response to everything that 5by5 (business Dan) was doing that pissed people off and the results speak for themselves. Dan has also pivoted to paid podcast hosting with Fireside.
@matigo when Gruber left 5by5 back in the day I was stunned; it became pretty clear after a few years of watching the ongoing show and host exodus who the common denominator was. Merlin Mann's been loyal, but everyone else leaving probably helped keep his compensation fair.
