Busy afternoon ahead. First spending some time at Mary's parents' house visiting with her brother before he heads back to Seattle. Then the promised (since Christmas) visit to the local animal shelter to end our six year pet hiatus and pick out a cat.
@matigo I really liked Rogue One. I've only watched it once, but I plan to watch it with my older kids soon and I'm looking forward to the Disney+ Rogue One prequel series with Diego Luna. CGP Grey considers it his second favorite after Solo.
@matigo From what I can tell on Twitter they're getting zero pushback and total reinforcement on their opinions from the tims so it's kind of a gross Hello Internet echo chamber.
@matigo they took a real negative turn after The Last Jedi. Brady's opinions on a lot of popular science fiction annoy me actually. He really lost credibility with me when they talked about the first season of West World and he was meh on Evan Rachel Wood's performance.
🎙 Listened to the first 30 minutes of the Hello Internet Star Wars Christmas Special and then deleted it. I think some of their criticisms of Disney era Star Wars are legitimate, but find their jaded views on the franchise a tiresome waste of my listening time.
🍿 Just got back from watching The Rise of Skywalker with my older kids and some of my in-laws. I actually came away from it feeling a lot more positive than I thought I would based on the vibe I've been getting from the internet.
@matigo Fossil was created to assist in SQLite development so a repository is an sqlite database file with atomic transactions. It's a single monolithic executable, and besides the usual dvcs functionality has integrated web-interface bug tracking, wiki, forum, and tech notes.
Despite the ubiquity of git, I'm leaning towards using fossil for my random personal coding projects going forward. The export to git functionality is always there if I need it, but fossil has a lot going for it and its functionality easily exceeds my needs at this point.
@matigo heh, no. I don’t consider it appropriate (or a good example to my kids) to even take it out and glance at the screen, but I feel weird not having it in my pocket.
