at any rate I'm not misremembering. January in Spokane used to be quite a bit colder more often than it is now.

I found Spokane, WA Weather History [wunderground.com] on Weather Underground has the kind of data visualization I was looking for. Looks like a few days with highs in the 40 to 50 F range weren't unheard of 30+ years ago. Most daily highs were below 40 F though.

As unseasonably warm as I consider 40+ F January weather in Spokane, darksky.com's history functionality indicates that it's been pretty typical since 2010. Wish it had data going back to the 1980s so that I could confirm I'm not misremembering highs in the low 30s F.

Now the day's forecast is indicating rain throughout and a high in the low 40s F. Definitely not the Spokane January weather of my youth.

Rainy drive back into work today rather than the predicted start of morning snow accumulation. We'll see what it looks like once the sun rises.

🏃 My current pair of running shoes crossed the magic 800K/500mi barrier1 a few weeks ago so ordered some replacements. This year's edition of the model I've been running in for a few years only cost me $43 and change!

  1. I start to feel telltale minor aches and pains in my legs.

🏀 Crazy night in the WCC. Pepperdine gave Gonzaga all they could handle before losing 70-75 and then Pacific knocked off Saint Mary's 107-99 in 4 OTs. Portland beating USF 76-65 is surprising as well based on Ken Pom's rankings.
