Had a somewhat productive day tonight. Shoveled a couple driveways and did a little bit of painting, but didn't get a much done on the the home improvement front as I would have liked.
🍿Stumbled upon Jim & Andy The Great Beyond tonight on Netflix and had to watch it. I knew that Jim Carrey had stayed in character as Andy Kaufman for a lot of the filming of Man on the Moon, but the extreme he took it to went beyond anything I had imagined. Pretty wild.
Snowing pretty good now. Going to have to inspect my son's work on the driveway and see if it's satisfactory.
I should add that the White Elephant building itself was actually very utilitarian and kind of dumpy, but it was quite distinctive and memorable. I'm sure most longtime Spokane residents have as many fond memories of it as I do and it's sad to see it go.
Just saw in the paper that the old White Elephant Store building on Division is being demolished so that they can put in a Panda Express. It has sat empty since last year when they closed it, but still an iconic building here in Spokane.
📺Hawkeye continues to be awesome. Really looking forward to seeing how they wrap this up in episode 6 after a tremendous episode 5!
Finally watched a bunch of Marshall Sutcliffe's Wristwatch Revival videos this weekend. I've always admired his MtG podcasting and match commentary skill, but what he's doing on this channel is next level impressive. Just a cool and talented dude all around.
Had a productive day patching walls, painting, and installing baseboard moulding. Stairs are getting closer to being completely finished, but there's a ton of other work left to do.
🧙♂ Tried a couple MTGA games on the Alchemy ladder with mono green werewolves and saw so much lifegain in Silver right now that I decided to switch to the Giants deck that's been working well in the Alchemy play queue. Immediately faced Mono Black discard, but still triumphed.
🧙♂ Finished off this round of Crimson Vow Quick Draft with a 6-3 run. Lost my last game to white-red aggro, bombless and flooding out. A disappointing end, but par for the format in my experience. Probably going to focus on trying Alchemy now for the next couple weeks.
