Literature review with Papa.
πΏ Watched Iron Man with the two oldest kids tonight. Holds up very well for being 11 years old! Definitely one of my favorite MCU movies.
π G-Prep took a pretty good shot from Curtis in the first quarter, adjusted, and went on to handily win 65-47. Seems kind of unbelievable that Federal Way, G-Prep, and Richland are all in the same half of the bracket. The Bombers' title aspirations are in a world of hurt right now.
February in Spokane has been physically brutal compared to the first half of winter thanks to all the snow and sub freezing temperatures. It's made running more challenging and the cold dry air has been hard on my skin as well.
The Pinebook [pine64.org] is an affordable ($99!) 64-bit ARM based open source 14" laptop. Comes with Ubuntu MATE by default, but it can run other distros, and the $89 11" inch model also strikes me as a nice retro gaming option.
Looks like a really nice (while still frigid) sunny day out my office window. Hoping it will still be the case this afternoon when I'm getting in a run.
ππ I'm only like 17 years late for the party, but finally reading BraveHearts by Bud Withers. It's pretty good and I definitely don't anticipate waiting another 15 to get through Glory Hounds!
Nothing like accidentally banging into the kneecap that was still sore from an unexpected impact earlier in the week. At least it doesn't really hurt unless I make direct contact.
Discovered an awesome chiptune adjacent podcast this morning called Retro Game Audio [overcast.fm]. Hosts Patrick Todd and Steve Lakawicz do a monthly deep dive into classic game soundtracks and the game systems they were written for.
π On paper itβs kind of disappointing that G-Prep and Federal Way are projected to meet in the 4A semifinals, but then Iβm reminded of 2007 when Ferris beat defending champion Franklin in the semis and then had to go to OT to beat Kentridge in the championship game.
