🎮 Played some Diablo II at lunch after several days of playing newer 3D stuff like Grim Dawn. Such a great game and the dated isometric graphics are very much a feature not a flaw.
@matigo it was a Mother's Day surprise so I got her the white one and an inexpensive translucent blue case (figuring she could choose something else she liked better), but she seems happy with it. More importantly I got her the 128GB model so she has plenty of room.
@matigo Yes, some apps are still reloading, but all the data made it safely as far as I can tell.
I had to complete setup without restore, update to iOS 13.5, wipe data, start setup again, and then restore at that point of the new phone setup process (which finally worked!), but this was several hours after I started the whole process.🙄
I started to transfer the backup folder to a newer Mac with Catalina, then realized how long transferring that much data would take across our home network at 8.7MB/s and just did a second backup. When I finally got to the point on the SE that I could restore it still refused.
Well, that new iPhone SE setup process was more of an adventure than it should have been. The first computer I used to backup the old 6s on was running High Sierra and iTunes didn't recognize the new phone when I went to restore.
Waiting for Comcast to activate the new phone (30 minutes and counting). Really doesn't seem like it should take this long for a number that's already on Xfinity Mobile. In fact it seems like I should have just moved over the existing sim card.
@matigo No, we've never signed up for one of the iCloud plans and even the 50GB plan is too small now.
Finally getting Mary setup on her new iPhone SE. Coordinating a time when she was willing to go without her phone long enough to for me to back it up and then restore it on the new one was challenging, especially since I'm not completely sure how long it will take.
Sitting out on our porch swing enjoying all the rain we’re getting. Everybody else is inside watching a Mt. St. Helens documentary.
