Mary’s Chicago Trip Mix

The weather has been great all weekend, but I've actually been staying indoors and doing other things for most of it. Hopefully the weather will continue through the rest of the month.

I ended up staying up really late working on a CD for Mary before she leaves for Chicago. I think it turned out really well though so it was worth it.

New Windshield Time

I went out to my family's house to visit with Kristen for a while this afternoon. I installed some nifty graphics programs for Kristen to play with while I was trying to come up with a cool cd graphic design.

At some point I got the brilliant idea to go out and shoot a few baskets.

Unfortunately for me (and my car's poor windshield) I missed one too many shots and pretty much finished off my already well cracked windshield. Looks like it's time to finally replace it.

Dinner with Grandparents

I've been kind of neglecting my site this week.

Mary and I went on kind of an unusual date last night, but it was really fun. We went over and had dinner with my grandparents at their retirement home and then we played some shuffleboard and miniature golf. I golfed 21 for nine holes to win by 11 strokes, but I think Micah has done it in 19 before.

Mary says she's going to beat me one of these days and I don't doubt it for a minute. Maybe we should have a rematch on her home course in the Northtown basement.

Thursday Night Lineup

The majority of my free time this evening was spent watching the Thursday NBC lineup. Friends was pretty funny, especially the plot twist at the end. ER wasn't too bad either.

Biking Shape

I rode my bike to work again for the first time this week. On the way home I was pretty pleased with the ease I was able to blow by another biker going up Howard. He actually caught up to me while I was waiting at the light on 2nd and I didn't try to beat him from that point, but I totally dusted him on the way up.

I think my legs are definitely starting to get in better biking shape. I may have to start running here again soon too. I definitely want to start getting in better shape.

Random Stuff

I'm doing pretty well on my Taco Bell Star Wars contests. I'm only one piece away from winning $10,000. Of course I'm sure the piece I don't have is the hard one to get.

At lunchtime I got my first summer length haircut of the year. It's going to be really nice not having to mess with it after I wear my bike helmet. The weather tomorrow is actually supposed to be pretty good so riding to work shouldn't be a problem.

I've been thinking about looking at bike computers for a while, but I haven't done anything with that yet. I'm also thinking I should look into bike touring bags. My old backpack is working fine for now, but I think it'd be worthwhile to have some other options.

StarCraft

I played some StarCraft for the first time in a couple weeks and I actually made some serious progress on the level I was stuck on. That definitely left me with a good feeling because I had felt somewhat frustrated up to this point.

Track Meet and Lilac Parade

I started off the day by watching some track out at Mount Spokane High School. Kristen ran the 800 and then a leg of the 4×400. Amazingly enough her team won the relay! Unfortunately my mom and I missed it because we were getting cold and wanted to get some shopping in.

This evening Mary and I went and watched the Lilac Parade downtown. That was pretty fun and it was cool that the weather stayed bearable.

Friday Update

Nichole has her big race today. It should be interesting to see how she ends up doing.

Even though the weather didn't really warrant it I decided to wear shorts today. Actually it wasn't that cold this morning, but it was somewhat cloudy.

Tired

Nothing too exciting happened today.

I didn't ride to work today or when I got home. I was actually feeling sleepy so I took a short nap instead.

I'm definitely looking forward to this weekend.
