Wednesday Ride

I didn't ride to work today, but I did get in a pretty good ride after I got home. It made me realize that there's a definite downside to living towards the bottom of the South Hill when you decide to ride up it and you're out of shape.

Even though the weather has been weird and crappy in May so far I really think this is going to be a good summer overall. Chances are it will go by really quickly as well.

I should really get around to doing some of the site improvements I've been mulling over forever. Or I could just go to sleep now. I am kind of tired.

Seven Layers of Trouble

Today has turned out to be a really nice day.

Unfortunately for me I had an incident with a seven layer burrito while driving. There's nothing quite so fun as having warm gooey guacamole, sour cream, and beans dripping onto your lap. I actually thought it was pretty amusing at the time.

Bike Commute

I rode my bike to work for the first time today. This morning I tried to dress appropriately for the conditions since it was somewhat cold, but I still managed to break a sweat by the time I got there. Unfortunately my ears took about twenty minutes to warm up.

The ride home from work was much nicer temperature wise and I tried to take it a little bit easier. By the time I navigated through downtown and up the short hill to my apartment I had started sweating once again.

I think my commute is going to work out pretty well this summer. Now it's time to start looking at car repairs.

Family Time

And I thought the weather was weird yesterday! It snowed out at my parents house for quite a while.

I got to play with little Joe today which was definitely fun. He's getting fairly accomplished at kicking and throwing balls for a two year old.

I also saw The Mummy and thought it was good for the most part.

I got the chance to look at some old photographs of myself at my grandparents when we went to wish my grandmother a happy Mother's day. My middle school picture was definitely the worst.

New Bike!

I have my bike. Time for a test ride now.

The weird weather continues. As I was coming out of the grocery store prior to picking up my new bike I had to contend with a sun/rain/snow mix.

New Bike Tomorrow?

I found out that my new bike finally arrived today. Unfortunately it still needs to be assembled. If I'm lucky they'll get it done by the end of the day otherwise it's supposed to be ready tomorrow morning.

The track meet yesterday was fairly entertaining. I didn't make it to the grocery store though.

Where Did The Week Go?

I can't believe yet another week has zipped by on me.

There's a big track meet at Hart field that I'll probably have to stop by since it's sort of in my neighborhood and Nichole will be running.

I need groceries anyway and my store of choice is right across the street.

Apartment Cleaning

Today was rearrange and clean my apartment day, but it looks like I'm going to have to continue tomorrow.

This early morning daylight thing is seriously messing with my sleep cycle. I'm feeling tired and going to bed around 11pm then I'm waking up around 5:30am!

It probably doesn't help that I've been cutting down on my caffeine intake lately too.

Bloomsday Next Year?

It's clear to me as I sit here looking out my office window that I was a little optimistic with my choice of clothing today. Still, I was tired of wearing pants… I guess that's just the price you pay sometimes.

The Spokesman Review's Bloomsday coverage is pretty cool this year. You can already look up the finishing time for everyone who ran the race and even find their finish line photo as well.

I should really make an effort to be in good shape for next year's race. I think breaking 50 minutes would be a pretty good goal for me to shoot for.

Tired

I'm really feeling tired as I right this. And when I start writing in homonyms that's clearly a symptom. LOL

Kristen and I took her new (used) car over to Nichole's to show it off and take her out to ice cream. I got a strawberry sundae. It was excellent.

It turns out my bike didn't ship out from the factory until last Friday. At least it should be ready by the weekend now.
